Sarria to Portomarin
Yesterday I was in Sarria and people said it would be crowded but I had no idea how big the crowds would be. I still found it to be a pleasant walk (the least pain I've had the whole Camino). I found beautiful cafe gardens to stop and refuel and there was a light drizzle a few times. I walked primarily with a friend from Utah and the time passed quickly. When I arrived in Portofino I had a tough time finding a bed so I went to a large shared space albergue. The town was having water issues because and the tap water was brown everywhere. I couldn't get the wifi working and it was stinky. Needless to say I decided to leave extra early to get a head start on the crowds and secure a better place to stay tonight. I left at 6:45 am and walked in the dark with a headlamp for 2 hours. It took me 7 miles to find a place to have coffee and a croissant for breakfast. My feet were hurting a good part of the day but I walked quickly and got a nice place with panoramic views of the mountains. It was sunny when I arrived but it began raining tonight and there's a 100% chance of rain the next 3 days....I have 3 days left until I make it to Santiago! We'll see what tomorrow brings?!
Buena suerte!
