Sarria

The walk to Sarria was probably my favorite walk of the Camino. I walked alone taking an alternative route 5 miles further to Samos, where a beautiful 6th century Montestary sits. There's also a 1000 year old cypress tree. The walk hugged a river the entire day. There were gorgeous forests and stone villages. It was peaceful with very few people on the trail. I landed at a farm house that served me homemade sausage and cheeses and enjoyed it with new friends, then went on to Sarria and stayed in a private room on the river.
